The Weeknd‘s sixth studio album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, released on January 31, 2025, serves as the concluding chapter of his trilogy, following After Hours (2020) and Dawn FM (2022).
This 22-track album delves into themes of fame, personal turmoil, and introspection, reflecting on the artist’s journey and the challenges of celebrity life. Notable tracks include “Wake Me Up,” which pays homage to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” and “Timeless,” featuring Playboi Carti. The album also includes collaborations with Travis Scott, Future, and Lana Del Rey.
Critics have offered mixed reviews. The Guardian describes the album as “an often exhausting listen due to its thematic lament on celebrity woes and occasionally cringe-worthy lyrics,” yet acknowledges its “musicality and innovative production.”
In support of the album, The Weeknd has announced the After Hours til Dawn 2025 Tour, set to begin on May 9, 2025, in Phoenix and concluding on September 3, 2025, in San Antonio. The tour will visit major cities across North America, with Playboi Carti and Mike Dean as opening acts. VIP packages will include tickets to the upcoming Hurry Up Tomorrow film, starring The Weeknd, Jenna Ortega, and Barry Keoghan, releasing on May 16, 2025.
